Terms & Conditions Simply Halls

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) set out the rules for using our platform, website, and services (together, the “Platform”). By accessing, browsing, or using Simply Halls, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. About Simply Halls

Simply Halls (“Simply Halls”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) provides an online platform that enables:

  • Guests to search for local halls, view availability, book online, and make payment.
  • Hosts to list their halls, manage bookings, receive payments, and generate invoices.

Simply Halls is a facilitator only. We do not own, operate, or control the halls listed on our Platform. All bookings are agreements directly between the Guest and the Host. The term “hall” refers to halls, rooms, grounds and other facilities available to hire.

2. Eligibility

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Have the legal authority to enter into binding contracts.
  • Use the Platform in compliance with these Terms and applicable laws.

3. Account Registration

  • Guests and Hosts must create an account to access certain features.
  • You must provide accurate, current, and complete information.
  • You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.

4. Hall Listings & Content

  • Hosts are responsible for the accuracy of their listings.
  • Simply Halls may moderate, edit, or remove unlawful or misleading content.
  • By uploading content, Hosts grant Simply Halls a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, display, and promote that content on the Platform.

5. Bookings & Payments

5.1 Booking Process

  • Guests may request a booking through the Platform.
  • Bookings are confirmed once payment is processed.
  • A legally binding agreement is formed between the Guest and the Host upon confirmation.

5.2 Payments

  • Payments are processed via third-party providers.
  • Simply Halls does not store card details.
  • Guests authorise Simply Halls to collect payments on behalf of Hosts.
  • Full booking amount (rent + service fees) must be paid upfront.
  • Hosts receive payment after the event, minus any deductions for disputes.

5.3 Service Fees

  • Simply Halls charges a service fee to Guests (displayed at booking).
  • Hosts may not add additional hidden fees outside the Platform.

6. Cancellations & Refunds

  • Cancellation policies are set by Hosts and shown at booking.
  • Refunds are processed according to the Host’s policy.
  • Service fees may be non-refundable unless required by law.

7. Responsibilities of Guests

  • Comply with hall rules, instructions, and laws.
  • Use the hall only for the purpose stated in the booking.
  • Leave the hall in the condition it was found.
  • Be liable for any damage, loss, or misconduct.

8. Responsibilities of Hosts

  • Ensure halls are safe, clean, and legally compliant.
  • Honour confirmed bookings.
  • Handle disputes with Guests in good faith.
  • Indemnify Simply Halls against claims from unsafe or misrepresented halls.

9. Liability & Disclaimers

  • Simply Halls acts solely as an intermediary platform.
  • We are not liable for damages, disputes, or interruptions beyond the Platform’s control.
  • Our liability shall not exceed the total service fees paid by you in the 12 months before a claim.

10. Data Protection & Privacy

We collect and process data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable laws. Guests have rights under GDPR. Hosts must comply with GDPR when processing Guest booking information.

11. Intellectual Property

The Simply Halls Platform, logo, trademarks, and software are protected IP. You may not copy, reproduce, or exploit the Platform without consent.

12. Prohibited Uses

  • Posting unlawful, misleading, or harmful content.
  • Booking halls for illegal or dangerous activities.
  • Circumventing the Platform with off-platform payments.
  • Interfering with security or functionality of the Platform.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, provide false information, or engage in fraud/abuse.

14. Changes to Terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on the Platform and effective immediately unless otherwise stated.

15. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
