About Simply Halls

Community halls are the quiet backbone of everyday life in the UK. They host children's classes, parish meetings, fitness groups, celebrations, fundraisers and moments that bring people together. Yet many of these spaces are run by volunteers, managed with limited resources, and supported by systems that haven't kept pace with how people now search and book venues.

Simply Halls was created to support these community spaces — not to commercialise them.

Our Story

Simply Halls began with a simple observation: village halls and church halls are essential, but they are often hard to find and time consuming to manage. Booking enquiries were handled through phone calls, emails, paper diaries and spreadsheets, placing an unnecessary administrative burden on volunteers and parish councils.

At the same time, people looking to hire a local hall were frustrated by outdated information, unclear availability and inconsistent booking processes.

We founded Simply Halls to bridge that gap — respectfully and transparently — by creating a service that works for both sides of the community: the people who run halls, and the people who use them.

Our mission is to help community venues thrive in the digital age while remaining affordable, accessible and locally focused.

We do this by:

  • Supporting volunteers and committees with simple, timesaving tools
  • Making community halls easier to discover and book
  • Removing financial and technical barriers for venue owners
  • Encouraging the continued use and sustainability of local spaces

Simply Halls exists to reduce admin, not add complexity.

Fair & Transparent — There are no subscriptions or commissions for hall owners. Halls keep 100% of their hire charges. We are open about how we operate and how we sustain the service.

Simple by Design — We believe technology should feel helpful, not intimidating. Our approach is intentionally straightforward, with support available whenever it's needed.

Trust & Respect — We work closely with parish councils, trustees and booking secretaries, respecting the responsibilities they carry and the communities they serve.
